Romancing Your Bedroom: 5 Ways To Make Your Bedroom More Romantic

On average we spend about one third of our entire life sleeping. Given how much time we all spend in the bedroom, it needs to be a relaxing sanctuary – a room in your home that you look forward to entering after a long day. In addition to being a calming space for you to retire to each night, the bedroom has a well-earned reputation for being a romantic hot spot.

The question now becomes how do you decorate your space in a way that both inspires passion and relaxes you after a long day at work? From platform beds to luxuriously soft bedding, here are five tips designed to help you romance your bedroom by decorating it in a way that’s both comfortable and romantic.

• The Bed:

Your bed should be the focal point of the bedroom. Typically, the first thing you notice when you walk into a bedroom is an impeccably dressed bed. The type of bed frame you choose should reflect your personal style, but shouldn’t be too ornate or detailed. While there’s something to be said for a big fancy canopy bed – the simpler, the better. Low-profile platform beds sit closer to the floor and are often designed to look ultra-sleek and modern. A nicer coffee or black wood frame will create quite the style statement in your home. Leather bed frames make a bold and adventurous statement.

• The Bedding:

While the bed itself is the room’s center, the bedding is what draws you in. Nothing says "romantic" quite like an ultra-luxurious duvet or comforter and some premium 400 thread count organic cotton sheets. When choosing the fabric for your top of bed display, it’s OK to be a bit daring. Look for a pattern that exudes passion with bold colors and modern prints. Avoid frilly fringe and metallic accents, as these can be a bit stuffy and traditional-looking. Go for a crisp, clean contemporary look. Throw on a couple of coordinating throw pillows to complete the look.

 Candles:

The key is creating a bedroom that doubles both as a relaxing retreat and a romantic getaway. Decorating your space with scented and unscented candles is one way that you can create a romantic atmosphere without going overboard. Candles have the tendency to make a space look elegant and classy, even when they aren’t lit. When illuminated, the candles instantly change the whole vibe in the room, creating a much more romantic atmosphere.

• Color:

While red is the color of passion, avoid painting all of your walls red, as it’s also a color associated with aggression. Having red accents throughout your bedroom is a great way to incorporate the color without it being overkill. Bringing in fresh flowers from time to time is another great way to add some color to your bedroom.

• Mirrors:

Adorning your walls with mirrors is another way to help ignite passion in the bedroom. Now I’m not talking about going all Versailles with the mirrors, but adding one or two decent size wall mirrors adds a nice element to the space, in addition to making the bedroom seem bigger.

By adding a spot of color here and a dab of a dash of luxury there, you’re bedroom will go from drab to fab. Restraint is key when creating a romantic bedroom, as you don’t want it to look like a cheesy motel. Just let your personality come through in your design choices and you’ll be golden.

Feminine hairstyles for 2009

Posted on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 4:21 pm

A woman has had at least 26 new looks during her life. These aren’t only clothing, lifestyle or interior styles, but also your haircut belongs to a possible new look.

So, if you are thinking to visit a hairdresser for cutting or painting your hair the coming weeks. Here in advance the new hair trends for 2009.

The new hair fashion becomes much shorter. The modern short hair styles have a pony that is cut rounded and carried in front of the face.

The new spicy and self-conscious short hair styles are more feminine than ever and will be the summer trend in 2009.

Women with long hair: Wear your hair out of your face.  Preferably tightly to the back! What you can do then with the hair on the back of your head is up to you: a plait, a bun, a roll or a hair tie.
Don’t fancy a firm coup, then consider a nonchalant look. Therefore you put your hair in a not so tightly/loose pony tail, bun or pin up your hair. For the nonchalant effect you’re pulling some strings of hair out of the model. The crest is also back as a 2009 hairstyle!

If you want a stylish, romantic or trendy look! It can and may all.

Stylish 2009 hair styles
2009 will be marked by firm geometric shapes and all kind of glances. Amongst the stylish (2009) hair styles, there is much notice for the finishing touch and the details. Here comes the professional skills of your hairdresser clearly too an expression.
Some examples are: perfectly cut bob-lines with asymmetric layers, (side) parts or large curls.

Plaiting
You can do a lot more with plaiting than you would consider at First. Plaiting horizontal, twisted and a casual plait are fun but put up and in the shape of a hair tie are optional too.

Romantic 2009 hair styles
The romantic hair styles are noticed through many volume, playful forms and a high feel-good-character. Also these hair styles are often cut in layers. Think of beautiful full curls, ‘wooly’ styled models or long hair in styled layers.

The crest
Back to the ‘80s & ‘90s! You’ll notice that a model with a crest can stay up much longer when you first start fluffing it up by taking a stend of hair and combing the hair back to the head. This fluffing up will provide body for your coup. If necessary with the help of some clips and many, many hairspray!

Trendy hair styles
Especially when you want a trendy look, then you choose for a coupe with many striking contrast in the lengths and rough cut and styled strings. This hair style goes great with the fashion image with bright accented and risky combinations. To make you hairstyle more personal you can mix various styles with each other. Everything can and goes, feel free!

Wacky hair accessories are doing it great this summer!
